Visualize it!

No matter what type of session you come in for, it’s always a good plan to have a clear idea of what you want your end result to look like. Research inspiration for theme ideas, poses, makeup looks or even props. Remember we have a closet of beautiful clothes and props at your disposal and check out our Pinterest for inspo! You can discuss these examples with Ivonne so that you can be on the same page from the get go.

Get pampered…just not the day before!

It’s completely ok if you want to take advantage of your scheduled photoshoot to go ahead and get a makeover, but aim to do this a few weeks BEFORE your shoot. That way you have time to get accustomed to your new look and your skin can have time to recuperate and lose any redness it may have left over from any facials or procedures. Remember to always go to a professional to avoid any unwantedness.

Don’t go on any crazy crash diets!

Beauty comes in all forms, shapes and sizes. You are beautiful just the way you are so there’s no need to put extra pressure on yourself to look a certain way for your shoot. We say: come as you are. You are lovely! Plus we have some secret tools at our disposal that will make you look your absolute best!

Plan your outfits

Make sure you’ve tried on and have tailored any garments you plan on wearing during your shoot so that they fit properly and are on par with what you want your end results to be. Don’t forget to bring all kinds of underwear (strapless bras for example) as well as any jewelry or trinket that has special meaning to you.

Avoid sunburn

While tans can look amazing in photos, sunburns are not pretty and are not easily retouched. Avoid at all cost getting sunburned in the days before your shoot so that no crazy redness or weird tan lines show up in your photos. Nevertheless, it’s ok to go get a spray tan a few weeks before if that’s the look you want to go for!

Get a good night’s sleep

Try to have a full night of rest the night before your photoshoot. You’ll feel rested and will have more energy and that will show in your portraits. P:S heavy drinking the night before is a big no-no. Hangovers never photograph well.

Bring with you any makeup you love

We offer all our clients professional hair and makeup services, so there’s no need to come made up. Nonetheless, we encourage you  to bring with you your favorite lipstick or trusty concealer. This way you can be at ease that your skin is made up to perfectly match your skin tone.

Speak your mind

Nothing will prepare you more for your photoshoot than communicating clearly with the photographer and the team. Don’t be hesitant of discussing your expectations and the details of your session prior to it and of letting the photographer know how you’re feeling during it. Communication is key!
